Lots of new material

I confess that my "Free Weekly Free Tips" haven't always been very weekly, but they have always been free. I try to keep them meaty and interesting and relevant, and sometimes I'm challenged to come up with quality topics -- especially when I'm working on something else for the site that is meaty, interesting, and relevant. I have some responsibility to create members-only material, too.

Recently, my time has been consumed with making new videos for the site. If you don't aren't signed up for Free Weekly Tips, you might not be aware of what some of that material is.

If you haven't seen the new Flip SlideHD camcorder, you can take a look at it, member or not, in this review. The review features a comparison of the newest Flip with previous models, including side-by-side comparison of the video.

Still looking for the best way to edit your Flip video with Windows Movie Maker or Windows Live Movie Maker? This members-only video gives the definitive recipe.  It works with any version of Windows -- XP, Vista, or 7 -- and any version of Movie Maker, including Windows Live Movie Maker. Begin by downloading two pieces of free software.

These are very powerful pieces of software, and you can use them for many purposes.  You can set up a template for easily prepping video from virtually any camcorder for editing with virtually any Windows-based editor.  You can capture material from your screen and incorporate it into your movies, e.g., for instructional video, as described in this free tip.

There is a wealth of other free resources for your videos, and many of these have been described in recent tips.  For example, you can get free background music, or free soundscapes.

Finally, there has been material on some of the best low-cost accessories that might add to your enjoyment of your Flip, such as a monopod, or a headset with microphone.

Aside from access to members-only material, want to know what the best reason is for becoming a member of FlipInFocus?  Because I can and do answer any questions about any of these topics in the user forums or comment sections relating to each topic.  Better yet, you can share your own experiences with other members.
